Russia (Magog) Calls on Germany (Gomer) to Forge an Alliance
Russia's (Magog of the coming Ezekiel 38 prophecy) former Premier Mikhail Gorbachev has called on Germany to forge an alliance for the "common European good". Is this a prelude to erstwhile NATO member and U.S. ally, Germany, breaking away from the United States?
The bible prophesies in the book of Daniel that a revived Roman Empire will emerge. As the largest and most powerful nation in Europe, Germany is expected to be a pillar of that coming European Superstate. Will a German-Russian alliance indicate Ezekiel's prophecy is in the horizon? Ezekiel 38 prophesies that Russia (Magog), Iran (Persia) and Turkey (Tubal) will someday lead a military coalition to invade Israel tand "take spoil"? Germany (Gomer) will be a prominent member of that invading force (indicating a possible relationship between the Revived Roman Empire and Magog). According to the prophecy, Israel will be so isolated, outnumbered and helpless that God will intervene to completely and miraculously destroy the forces of Gog and Magog as a sign to the world and to Israel.
Increasingly, Europe has been reliant on Russia for its energy needs. Prophecy watchers have been closely monitoring Israel's energy/oil industry which is quickly growing as massive oil and natural gas deposits have been discovered in recent times. Could this resource be the reason that the Gog & Magog powers come to Israel "to take spoil"?
